DIY Pallet Garage Organizer

After ten years of waiting, planning, dreaming and saving, we finally built a garage. So for the first time ever, we have a real garage to organize. It’s kind of fun (although I’m not an all out organizing kinda girl.) And what do we have the most of to organize in the garage? Tools. Drills, saws, clamps, you know… building tools. So we found a super simple solution that was absolutely free – a tool organizer made from a pallet.

Great idea for organizing drills, etc. in the garage - made in just a few minutes from a pallet!

DIY Pallet Tool Organizer

Need to get your tools organized? This easy DIY idea is free and made in minutes. This project is almost too simple to actually call a project. I started with a pallet – nothing fancy, just a simple wooden pallet (that my neighbor was sweet enough to bring home from work for me.)

Easy garage organizer: she made a tool organizer from a pallet!

This particular pallet was super easy to remove boards (it’s not always an easy task!) We were lucky enough that the nails were spiral shank nails (versus the traditional ring shank nails.) In just a few minutes we had removed all of the boards from the back of the pallet, which was the dirtiest side of the wood.

Easy garage organizer: she made a tool organizer from a pallet!

Then we used screws to attach it to the studs, using a level to properly hang it. After that, it was just all about putting all of the tools we needed to organize up so they’re easy to find and easy to put away.

Gina, I caught your Periscope live this morning, really enjoyed it….I’m new to Hometalk and you cleared up a lot of nagging issues I had with it – like, my last project got 47k views and over 1000 pins, but that translated into a just few hundred hits on my blog. Whaaaat?

Anyway, thank you for the insight! 🙂 I linked up my pallet headboard, it’s one of my favorite pallet projects.
