Speaking of a buck… did you know that there’s of a whole week of dollar store decorating posts? You can find the previous post over on The Pennington Point.
All you need is a book and a sewing machine. Rip the pages out of the book (it’s ok, you can do it.) I don’t suggest you take apart a priceless work of literature, but a $1 bargain book won’t cry.
Love this and it is so easy which believe it or not — I am really being to enjoy : ) lol!!!! great job as usual my friend and so happy to be included in your fun Dollar Day Week of Fun!!! hugs…
I’ve been wanting to try this! Looks so cute♥

I just love this! And it’s super quick which at the time of the year is my fav!!
My favorite!! I still need to buy one from you. I totally forgot after Bella Rustica! 😉
I would have never thought to run the book pages through the sewing machine! Brilliant! Such a cute idea & I agree, it makes a great filler! So excited about joining in with you all for this series & looking forward to everyone’s projects!
What a great idea! I am going to try this for my rather plain looking mantel.
Love it! Lots of damaged books that the library has to throw out would be great resources too…

I am having a fabulous holiday giveaway right here.
What a wonderful idea, Gina! It looks great and how cool that you can use a cheap book to create it. Thanks for the idea and the instructions!

This is so cute! I’ve gotta make some! Thanks for the idea. Lisa~
This is awesome! We used vintage pages to decorate our wedding tables! Love it.
Love the look of this Gina! I can’t believe you can do a whole book in 30 minutes, that’s amazing!
Had to give this a little ‘shout out’ in my blog post today..

Do you have to stitch a stitch through it? Can you just fold it?
“When you need to join pages, just make the next page slide into the fold of the page before it and keep on crinkling/sewing.” Can you explain the ‘fold’ mentioned here! or elaborate on this step since its the most important part? Thanks!
It just means to slide it beneath the next part before you start stitching there – hope this helps
How are the “folds” made, I understand the sewing, just stuck on crinkel/fold.
Hi Robin, they aren’t really folds, just crinkled, smushing the center and sew along the center of the crinkle. It isn’t anything exact and not supposed to look perfect. Look at the picture of me sewing the page, it shows how I crinkled it. I am sorry to not be able to be more specific but this DIY is supposed to look a bit rustic. I hope that helps 🙂
