No Sew Burlap Pillow

This no sew burlap pillow could not be any easier (or any cuter!) My friend Janine is going to show you her brilliant idea for making it in a snap!

no sew burlap pillow on wood

Hello there, I’m Janine from Happy Happy Nester, and I’m excited to share my latest no sew burlap pillow. For the past year, I have wanted to buy a sewing machine, but I am overwhelmed by all the choices. So, this project couldn’t be more appropriate for my situation since it requires no sewing whatsoever – and what could be cuter than some white fluffy pom poms.

No Sew Burlap Pillow with Pom Poms

The following post includes Amazon affiliate links.

Supplies:

  • 1 (12″ x 20″) Pillow
  • Burlap bag (package of 6 – 12″ x 20″)
  • 2 packages of Pom poms (package of 15 – 1.5″)
  • scissors
  • Fabric glue
  • Velcro with sticky back
  • Ruler
  • Pen

Instructions:

no sew burlap pillow bags

To make this a no sew project, we’re going to use these little burlap bags, they come premade, and are sold in a package of six.

no sew burlap pillow pom poms

First measure and mark the distance you want to have in between the pom poms and then start attaching the poms on with the fabric glue. Just a side note: this 20″ x 12″ pillow used 32 (1 1/2 inch) pom poms. It’s helpful to fill the bag with paper towels to keep it from gluing together – then let it dry overnight.

no sew burlap pillow velcro

Now cut and attach the velcro on the inside of the open edge of the burlap bag. I recommend adding fabric glue to attach them, this just adds more security to the velcro. After that is adhered, let the glue dry before using (and I removed the little drawstring that is attached the bag.)

Once the pillowcase is dry, you can place your pillow insert inside the case, then close it up at the velcro end and you now have the cutest little pillow for your home. I’ve made a couple, and I think I might make a few of these no sew burlap pillows for our outside porch.

I have always wanted a pom pom pillow, and this is the easiest project I have ever made. Since there are a variety of pom poms colors, have fun designing pillows that go with your home decor. Let me know if you make one and how it comes out; I would love to hear from you!

Cheers,

Janine

So adorable! Love how easy they are too. Thanks for link to buy the bags. I’m thinking a multi colored one for Summer would be cute. Thanks for sharing!

I don’t know if it’s just me or if perhaps everyone else encountering issues with your website.
It looks like some of the text in your posts are running off the screen. Can somebody else please provide feedback

This might be a problem with my browser because I’ve had this happen previously.
