Love the look of industrial farmhouse furniture – but want it on a budget? Then you’re in the right place. Because nothing says “industrial farmhouse” better than metal cafe style dining chairs. We bought ours at a shop that no longer carries them, but it is one of my favorite parts of our home. I frequently get questions about where to find them, so this post addresses just that: where to find industrial farmhouse style metal chairs on a budget.
Industrial Farmhouse Style Metal Chairs

If you’re going to try to get the look for less, you’ve gotta start with the look, right? The chairs above from Design Within Reach and are real, brand name, Tolix chairs. They’re gorgeous, but at $275 each, it’s a pretty pricey option. But if you want the real, authentic deal that will last the longest, these are your best bet. But if you want to stay on a budget, let’s look at other options.
So for about $10 more than a single chair, you can find this set of two metal cafe chairs from Bellacor at $285 for a pair {works out to about $142.50 each}.
Urban Outfitters is one of my absolute favorite places to shop, so I was pretty stoked when I found these industrial farmhouse chairs there, for a decent price – $129 is a solid price for furniture from a retailer that I know and trust their quality.
Love the chippy vibe? This vintage farmhouse style set of chairs from BlueFly may be just what you’re looking for. And at $484 for a set of 4, that works out to around $121 each.
Target has come a long way in the last few years on their selection in the furniture department… and these metal farmhouse style chairs are a good example. At $99 each, they’re a great way to get the look you love on a budget.

Gina great round up. I’ve been salivating on metal chairs for awhile now but the price always put me over the edge, finally you’ve found an affordable solution. Thank you.
JYSK has them for $34.99
Something we’ve sort of re-thought is the hanging bed for the screened in porch. We used a very thick piece of really good plywood and reinforced it around the edges with 1x2s. We hung the board with chains and–are you ready?–put it all the way to the ceiling! When someone wants a nap we lower it and dress it as a bed with a cot mattress or a sleeping bag. Bonus: Since it isn’t fitted out as a regular bed, we can drop it part way and use it for a serving surface for a buffet! (Pix available)
I’d love to see a picture of this!
I have the Tabouret chairs from Overstock in the color Vintage and I love them! I get compliments all the time! The arms are a bit annoying though when trying to push the chairs under a table. Also, I wish they had the drain holes in the seats like the Target and WM ones. Overall though, I’ve been very happy and was pleasantly surprised with their quality.
RH??? Bargain??!! Wow! Thanks for the info Gina! I actually got the bar stools from Target and I love it so far. 🙂
Oh poop. Ah! The overstock chairs I was hoping to get them for my dining room when the time came. Theyll be out of stock by the time i can afford it now. Oh well!
JYSK has them for $34.99
great job locating budget options! I like the metal chairs too, and the target ones seem like a winner to me! thanx!

I just received an ad from BJ’s Warehouse (for those who don’t know, it’s like a mini-Sam’s). They have emerald colored ones (so gorgeous), and they advertise silver, also for $33.00. Their quality is normally very good, so if you have a BJ’s near you, it might be worth checking out!
i was curious how you liked the quality of the RH chairs? How comfortable are they? What color did you choose? Thanks!
I bought 2 of these (Tabouret side Chairs) from Overstock in white and while I loved the look and the price, the seats are just far narrow (about 14 inches wide at the widest point and from front to back) and uncomfortable for dining. They are great for kids and while my kids loved them too, when it came to sitting for a real meal they said they wanted to switch chairs simply because they were so hard. I also have 2 large Henriksdal chairs at both ends of the table white are quite large (and super comfy, but wish they were a tad smaller!) and the chairs were really too small next to them. I planned to get 2 and add more if I liked them, or simply use them in the kitchen. We sent them back because there were too many issues with comfort and size- despite their great look. I have ordered 2 more now from Restoration Hardware in their mat white version and it looks like they will be several inches wider, deeper, and taller. They should arrive today and if they work I will buy 2 more. Also looking at buying cushions to fit these chairs as no matter what the dimensions, they are hard metal. If anyone has purchased cushions (that fit!) they love, please do share 😉
Gina, I’d love to hear how you like the Restoration Hardware chairs.
Target chairs look good but are super uncomfortable. Going with RH. Sat on one the other day and found it more comfortable than the original chair – in my opinion.
I am looking for this type of chair for my screened porch. The RH ones say for indoor use only. Just curious if you purchased the RH chairs and if so do you use them on your porch? Thanks!
Thanks for the reviews on these. Any info on farmhouse dining tables? =) Thank you!
Saw a cool version of this chair with a raw wood seat — it was uber comfortable. It was at TJ Maxx Homestore, and they only have one. Has anyone seen this somewhere else?
Walmart sells them for less
Big Lots has these chairs on the sales floor for less.
Good to know, thanks Cindy!!
