Have you ever tried Chalk Paint? It’s such an easy way to transform any piece of furniture with very little to no prep work!
Last week I shared my pretty little cabinet with y’all. She’s a little rough, but after a day at the DIY spa, she’s better than new.
Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is the original chalk paint – and it is an amazing product that helps you paint furniture (or almost anything!) with almost no prep. Just clean, paint & go. While not every piece is that easy, just make sure you have a solid surface without a ton of damage. Also make sure you’ve wiped the piece down completely so it’s clean and ready to take the fresh paint.

Two easy coats was all it took to give this little cabinet a whole new lease on life. For this piece, I used Provence, and it’s the perfect dusty teal.
Just a little distressing, nothing major. I actually let it sit painted a couple of days before attacking it. I always wait for the piece to “tell me” if it needs it or not.
I did leave the top alone… it was just too pretty to cover up. Besides giving it a paint makeover, I added some new ceramic knobs to make it pop just a bit.
I’ve used this little cabinet all over, but I think my bedroom has to be the best place! It’s been my nightstand for a few years now… it just fits there perfectly!
your cabinet looks gorgeous..LOVE the colour!!

Love it!! 🙂
Wow! That’s gorgeous. It’s amazing what a coat of chalk paint can do. I’ve posted a link to my recent chalk paint makeover. I do love the paint. It’s perfect for me as I very much dislike sanding. Yuk! Hate it.

Awesome, that Provence color is perfect. I love that you left the top…and that is has little touches of color in it. I, too, love when a plan comes together. 🙂

So pretty. Have you ever tried any of the homemade chalk paint recipes? If so, did you like them? Thanks in advance.
This is AMAZING! I’m totally drooling over the top and that you found something that beautifully junky!
That looks amazing! Love that blue. I’m trying to decide between the robins egg blue and this one for a project I have in mind.
Gina, your piece looks incredible! We are considering painting our kitchen cabinets in Provence. Wondering if you used straight Provence or did you add Old White. Also, wondering if you used dark wax. Thanks for your blog!
Incredible! Can you please tell me… did you use straight Provence or did you mix it with old white?
Could you explain how you distressed the dresser? I want to paint mine just like this, It’s Beautiful!!
I just took a sanding sponge and lightly hit all the edges a bit, then just a couple of passes over the flat spots. I didn’t want a ton of distressing, just enough to give it a little character.
