DIY Superhero Snow Globe

Superhero snow globe … According to my grandson, this is the coolest thing I’ve ever made. Which is awesome, because he’s the whole reason I made them πŸ™‚ Creating a snow globe is super, duper easy – a project you can make in about 2 minutes that will have the superheroes in your life something to cheer about. And it’s a cute way to either use old toys or with new ones.

Superhero Snow Globe - what a fun craft project! Perfect for superhero fans of all ages.

DIY Superhero Snow Globe

Supplies:

  • Superhero Figurines (this is the set shown here)
  • Hot Glue + Gun
  • Glitter
  • Mason Jars
  • Water

Superhero Snow Globe - what a fun craft project! Perfect for fans of all ages.

Start with by putting a healthy amount of hot glue on the center of the inside of the lid. These figurines have a little base they sit on, making it easy to attach them.

Center the figurine on the lid and sit aside to cool while you make some snow.

Inside the jar, pour in about 1/2 a tablespoon of blue, silver and white glitter. You could use a little more or a little less – and you can mix up the colors depending on what you’d like. (I used leftover glitter from my Starry Night Luminaries.)

Next fill the jar to the very top with water. All the way to the rim where you think it might overflow.

Carefully insert your lid, making sure to center it where you want the figurine to show. The jar WILL overflow, so be prepared to clean up a bit of water with some paper towels. If it doesn’t overflow, you’ll have air pockets. If you do have an air pocket, remove the ring and lid, then add a bit more water and try again.

Once you’ve got the air bubbles out, tighten the lid and clean up everything with a few paper towels.

Oh my gosh, that is such a cute idea! I can just see little boys making their little snow globes fight each other, ha ha. I wish i would have thought of this when my boys were small. πŸ˜€

Me and my sister tried this with plastic globes specially for snow globes and the glitter sticks to the globes and don’t fall like it’s supposed to. Any suggestions?

I used little mason jars and had no problem with the glitter sticking.

Our church’s Vacation Bible School’s theme this year is Hero Central. I was looking online for superhero crafts for the children to do. Then all of a sudden I came upon your Superhero Snow Globes to make. These will be perfect and easy for the children to make. My problem is, I can’t find the little superheros for the project. Could you please tell me where you got your superheros for the project. I would so like the children to make these, but have looked online and in a few stores, to no avail. I appreciate any help from you. Thank you for your time.

Thank you so much for the information on the figures. I went to three different Dollor Tree stores before I found them. They are just perfect, thanks again for the info. Marlys Busch

Thanks Diane! I used the mini ones, not sure what they are called. You can find them at Walmart in the canning area πŸ™‚

Do the figurines turn greasy or moldy after sitting in the water for awhile?

We tried making these with my grandkids- they totally did not work out- the glitter never separates and the mason jars leaked so we tried gluing the lids which did not help either. The kids were totally disappointed in these. Not happy.
