Fall Junkers United, undecorating for fall, (with a pinboard + link party)

Fall Junkers United.31 PMRemember when you were in high school, and one day, out of the blue, miraculously you got invited to sit at the cool kid’s table? No? Whew! Me either. I was always the dork, sitting at the dark corner table, reading a book while picking at her french fries. But, if it would have happened, I’m pretty sure it would feel like I feel today.

I have no idea why, but I’ve been invited to join the queen of junk herself, Funky Junk Donna, to be part of her Fall Junkers United blog hop. Me. (deep breath.)

I’ve been known to repurpose a thing or two in my past, but I don’t really consider myself a junker. And I’m definitely not a fall decorator. After she sees my version of fall decorating for free, she’ll probably curse the day my blog was born.

But, I’m all about keeping it real, yo. While I adore scouring Pinterest, oohing and ahhing my way through photo after photo of things that inspire me, I’ve gotta tell ya – lazy girls like me don’t do all that much. I plunk a house number on a pumpkin and call it done. Ten second decorating, that’s my style.

So what does my fall house really look like? I’d like to think it’s all about warmth from vintage baskets full of fuzzy blankets…

and cups of hot cocoa with homemade marshmallows…

and snuggling up with a good book for hours…

and filling up on lots of yummy homemade treats.

Simplifying at it’s finest. Family, food, and fun. That’s what fall looks like in our home.

  1. Hey there- I lOVE your numbered pumpkins – and all of your aqua! I came over to see your Fall post and eneded up spending 20 minutes reading about FREEZER MEALS! (something I’ve been meaning to do FOREVER.) Your house looks really warm and inviting…and CLEAN.
How did the marshmallows taste?? Better than from the store?

  2. I want the easy fall project pumpkin and the homemade marshmallows and to read in that chair for hours and to sit and wait for you to make me yummy things to eat! Yes… I love the way you bring in fall very very much. See you soon?! :)

Seriously, the house number on the white pumpkin… adorable. Why didn’t I think of that?! Pretty post!

  3. I like your “real” style, Gina! I might steal that number on the pumpkin too!

  4. I love simple–the white and blue speaks to me, even in the fall! Very cozy!

  5. It’s not just about junk, it’s about style, and baby you’ve got it. If I had your great mind I’d of plunked a number on a pumpkin myself!

  6. I LOVE the way Fall looks in your home, Gina! Like you, I don’t do a lot to decorate for fall, so it’s gotta be quick and easy. I’m just WAY impressed you make homemade marshmallows!! Those numbered pumpkins are so cute!!

  7. Gina, I am loving your simple yet comfy take on fall…and the pops of aqua make me happy!

  8. Thanks so much for hosting! Please stop by and link up on Friday for Friday Follow Along Party http://thecraftiestallie.blogspot.com/

  9. You make this sound so doable. I just might take a Saturday and do this. I work until 7 p.m. every night and with done ahead it would mean we wouldn’t have to eat at midnight anymore.
